John Dalziel is an eLearning Adviser, based at Lancaster University, for the Jisc Regional Support Centre Northwest.
Prior to his current role, John worked in secondary education as a Mathematics and Science Teacher, with a number of roles including Head of Physics, Head of Year and Head of House. He moved into Adult & Community Learning as a Mathematics, Science and ICT Tutor. John continued to teach adults from Pre-Entry Level through to, and including, Access Courses.
He became the ICT Curriculum Lead, a Vice Principal and then Head of an ACL Centre.
In his current role, John is Lead Adviser, in the Northwest, for Adult & Community Learning, the Offender Learning & Skills Service and Green ICT/Sustainability.
Evaluating and becoming familiar with sustainable and new technologies, plays a major role in his current post and John specialises in stimulating and supporting innovation in learning via eBooks, eMagazines, blogs, podcasts, vidcasts, online TV, interactive resources, forums, workshops, conferences and curation sites.
This allows him to respond to the needs of supported learning providers from a position of experience rather than 'hearsay'.
